Organizing summer learning supplies

As we get closer to summer (7 days and counting!) I’ve been trying to get organized so that all of our plans can run smoothly. I had to clean out our supply box and update some of the items, which made me think that I should share that again here. This has been so helpful in keeping all of the supplies we use regularly organized and easy to access. Here’s all of the info:

It’s really important to me that we’re continuing to learn – but I also want to spend as much time outside as possible. Having a way to use these materials outside is kind of a requirement, and I was struggling to come up with the best possible solution. Enter Ikea.

Wandering through Ikea, my eyes landed on this organizer tray and I immediately thought “what can I do with that?” I stared at it for a bit, walked away, came back – and then I saw the lid for it. Once I noticed that it had a flat top lid that could definitely be used as a writing surface I could envision all of the learning materials inside, and the rest was a no-brainer.

So what do we keep in this thing? Anything that might be needed for learning activities:

• Pencils
• Markers
• Dry erase markers
• Glue sticks
• Scissors
• Crayons
• Highlighters
• Pencil sharpeners
• Erasers
• Flash cards
• Learning games

I added a motivational quote on the lid as a reminder and can’t wait to keep the learning going, while we’re on the go!
