About Me: Christmas Version

holiday favorites

Hi, I’m Erin and I love, love, love Christmas. I haven’t done an introduction in a VERY long time, so I thought it might be fun to do one with a Christmas spin! Here are some of my holiday favorites – along with some quirky preferences and products that I can’t do Christmas without!

If you were a Christmas movie character, who would you be? I’m a hopeless romantic, so I’d pick any lead female from a Hallmark movie.

What is your favorite Christmas song? I literally cannot pick just one. I love Christmas music of all types – but my heart holds a special place for Mariah Carey and early 2000’s teen pop star Christmas songs. Give me a boy band holiday playlist and I’m happy. I also love country music and would gladly listen to Carrie Underwood and Brett Eldredge all day. Oooo and it really isn’t Christmas if you don’t play some Michael Buble!

What’s one product that you can’t do Christmas without? I have a 31 gift large utility tote with a Christmas tree pattern that I use for EVERYTHING during the holiday season. With so many places to go, and so many gifts to transport, a giant tote bag is a must. I’ve had mine forever, but here’s a similar one (affiliate link). I also use it to store some of my Christmas decorations when the holiday is over, so it does double duty.

If you could only watch one Christmas movie, what would it be? National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is one of those movies that I could watch all day long, or jump in halfway through and still find complete joy in. There are so many truly iconic scenes, and it makes me laugh every single time.

Sugar cookies or gingerbread cookies? Gingerbread, for sure. I make sugar cookies all year long, and I love them at Christmastime, but they don’t scream Christmas in the same way that gingerbread cookies do. I have a recipe that’s just the right amount of spice and a little chewy, it’s just the best.

What’s your favorite Christmas decoration? Growing up, my favorite decoration was always our ceramic lit Christmas tree – like this one (affiliate link). I’ve got one of my own now and I love they these have become popular again. They bring all of the comfort and nostalgia that Christmas really needs.

Real tree or fake tree? I’ve always had a fake tree, so it’s definitely my preference. I also have a black thumb and I’m 100% sure that I would kill a real tree long before Christmas actually got here. I also have strong feelings about being able to reuse my fake tree every year, and equally strong feelings about my dislike of pine smell.

If you could choose one holiday item or tradition to get rid of, what would it be? Eggnog, hands down. Nothing about it is appetizing and there are sooooo many better options.

Ugly Sweater or formal attire? Can I pick neither? I prefer to be comfortable, so that rules out formal attire. I’ll happily wear a cute holiday sweatshirt (like this one that I made this year), but I can’t make myself buy or wear a sweater that is ugly on purpose.

One of the best things about the holidays is that there are so many different ways to celebrate. Being able to choose the pieces that you love and lean into those is what really adds meaning and joy to the season!
