Preschool Ponderings

Whew! Last week was a whirlwind. My girl started school and all of our routines were flipped upside down. I finally had some time to myself, and that meant running every errand and tackling every project that I’d put off all summer. It was a lot to handle, so I took the week off to manage all of it. Now I’m back and fully ready to embrace the school year schedule. This felt like a perfect time to take a minute to introduce myself again.

Hi! I’m Erin, and I’ve been sharing preschool tips and tricks – along with thoughts on teaching, parenting, crafts, and products for over 10 years now. I know, that’s crazy right?! I started Preschool Ponderings when I was struggling to find ideas that met my Reggio-inspired and standards-based needs. Since then it’s grown from a space to share what was doing in the classroom to somewhere to encourage anyone teaching young children and support you all with resources.

Over the years I’ve held just about every possible role in early childhood education and the childcare field. I’ve been a before and after-school program staff member, toddler teacher, preschool teacher, program administrator, teacher coach and mentor, quality improvement specialist, and also a mom of a child attending child care. I use all of these lenses to make sure that I’m creating materials and sharing perspectives that are truly helpful.

When I’m not fully immersed in all these ECE, I love spending time with my family. My husband and I are high school sweethearts who have been married for 12 years. We have a 6 year old daughter who is in first grade this year. Our whole family loves camping and celebrating holidays, we’re also super involved in our county 4H program. You’ll see a little bit of all of this shared here too.

I hope that you’ll follow along, here on the blog and on instagram. Please take a minute to check out the free resources that I have available here on the site, and in both my TPT and Etsy stores.
