Preschool Rain Activities
We’re definitely still in snow season, but I’m manifesting spring for sure! One thing I can count on during spring is a solid stretch of rain. The best way I’ve found to make it through all of those rainy days is to absolutely embrace them. President’s Day for Preschoolers
The best thing about February being such a short month is just how fast it flies by – we’re already well into it and President’s day is next week! Since so many schools are closed for President’s day it has a way of sneaking up on me, and this year with Valentine’s day being the Friday before, I really think it can be best to observe President’s day in the classroom after the actual holiday. Pumpkin Fine Motor Activity
If you’re stuck in a bit of a fine motor rut, this activity will shake things up a bit. These cute yarn pumpkins are super easy to make, meaning every child can feel successful with this craft. To make this fall fine motor project you’ll need 3 simple supplies; cardboard tubes, yarn, and felt. Start by cutting your cardboard tubes down to the height you want your pumpkins to be. I was able to get two tall pumpkins by cutting a toilet paper tube in half. You’ll wrap each cardboard tube piece with yarn, passing the yarn through the middle of the tube and around the outside. Preschool Pumpkin Art
Is it really October if you don’t decorate a pumpkin? I have very specific rules about decorating pumpkins with young children – mainly NO PAINT and NO GLUE. I firmly believe that nothing that has to dry should ever be used on a pumpkin, because there is some kind of weird science that occurs and these things NEVER dry.
