President’s Day for Preschoolers
The best thing about February being such a short month is just how fast it flies by – we’re already well into it and President’s day is next week! Since so many schools are closed for President’s day it has a way of sneaking up on me, and this year with Valentine’s day being the Friday before, I really think it can be best to observe President’s day in the classroom after the actual holiday. Here are all of the resources that I have available to help you explore what this day means with your preschoolers. These can all be found in my TPT store. Click the images below to…

Snow Day Ideas and Traditions
We got hit with a nasty ice storm this week, which led to our third snow day of the year (the first two were for an extreme cold snap). I thought I’d share some of our favorite ways to spend a snow day – but before we get to that, If you’re in a program where you end up getting more children on a snow day, here’s a post that might be helpful! Now to the fun stuff! I’m a huge fan of leaning into the absolute relaxation of a snow day. Sometimes a surprise…

Snow Day Must Haves
As someone who has lived her entire life in the midwest, I’ve experienced my fair share of snow days. I know there are many people around the country who are currently enjoying a very rare snow day, so I thought I’d tell you about my favorite way to spend a surprise wintery day like this. February Preschool Lesson Plans
We’re more than halfway through January! That’s a reason to celebrate for sure – January is definitely one of my least favorite months. It’s like the crash after the high of the holidays, and it can be so cold and dark. I’m not sad that it’s almost over. I shared the list of everything included in my January Month of Preschool set a couple of weeks ago and wanted to make sure that I did the same with the February set so that you can make next month’s prep a little easier on yourself! Here’s EVERYTHING that’s included in the February Month of Preschool set: Wow! There are so many materials in this set!…

Paper Snowflakes – Elevated!
It’s been COLD here, so I’ve been spending all of my time inside. For me, that always leads to crafting! My daughter wanted to cut paper snowflakes, so we got out the paper and scissors and went to town. I feel in love with a couple of my surprise designs and wanted to take them a little farther. It turned into a fun, calming project that would be great for children of any age, so of course I had to share it here. I started with a simple paper snowflake, here’s one before opening it up – which is always the best part! And the the dramatic reveal of what…

January Celebrations for Preschool
I’m the kind of person who absolutely LOVES to have a holiday or celebration to look forward to. After the highs of the month of December, that can make January feel a little extra bleak. BUT there’s plenty to celebrate in January too, so if you want to keep the parties coming, here are some special days you might consider commemorating in the classroom this month. All of these dates are from my favorite calendar site; National Today. January 8th – National bubble bath day. This sounds like the perfect excuse for some soapy sensory fun! Squeeze some bubble bath on a piece of aluminum foil and let children fingerpaint…

Warm Weather December Themes
I’ve always lived where we get to experience 4 distinct seasons and the changes in weather that come with them. That’s played a role in my lesson planning for sure, because all of these seasons are relevant to my students. What do you do when this isn’t the case? Maybe your students only experience one or two different types of weather, does it make sense to teach preschoolers about snow when your temperatures never dip low enough to get any of the white stuff? There are two schools of thought here. One would say stick to what the children in your class will personally experience. I tend to agree with…
