Easy Ornament Gifts
I am forever searching for gifts that my students can make for their parents that meet the following critera; they won’t cost me a fortune, and they can be completed in one sitting. This year I came up with a cute idea that is not only quick and easy, but it might actually be something that families will keep for years to come.
How cute is this Keepsake ornament?!
And, of course, all of the pieces are printable, so I can share them with you! It’s a really simple idea, there are five questions typed onto strips. The questions are meant to capture what is important to each child at this moment in time;
- My favorite thing to do is
- I’m so glad that I have
- Winter is great because
- My holiday wish is
- My favorite thing about the holidays is
The children write their answers on the strips and then cut them out (or they can tell you their answers).
After all of the strips have been cut out, wrap each strip around a pencil and hold it for a few seconds to create a curl that you can slip into the opening on a clear ornament (glass or plastic ornaments will work). After all of the paper curls have been put into the ornament children can add other fun decorative elements like ribbon, sequins, glitter, pom poms, etc.
When the children have filled their ornament, place the top back on, then use a ribbon to tie the name tag to the ornament. This tag is also the perfect place to write the each child’s age and the year.
That’s it. It’s so easy, and it will be a great keepsake for families to enjoy for years. Download the free Keepsake Ornament printables and try it with your class!
I’d love to hear what kinds of gifts you love to make for families, share your ideas in the comments!
