DIY Kids Turkey Keepsakes

There’s a reason that the handprint turkey is still a standard Thanksgiving craft – it’s timeless and universally loved. We made this cute handprint before my daughter’s first Thanksgiving, and we look forward to pulling it out every year and comparing her hand size. There are so many ways to create family keepsakes with a simple handprint turkey. Here are a few of them:

• Print a painted handprint turkey on a white table runner each year and watch the handprints grow over time.
• Make drawings of handprint turkeys each year, take pictures of them and include them in family photo books
• Make an apron covered in family handprint turkeys to wear while making Thanksgiving dinner
• Have each guest at your celebration make a handprint turkey before dinner and use these as place cards
• Make a handprint turkey on a large canvas when a child is very young, and then trace their hand over top of it each year
