Classroom Materials for Easter

Preschool Easter

I just love introducing seasonal materials into the classroom. Children see these things in their homes, but they aren’t always allowed to play with or explore them in the way that they’d really like to. This means that in the classroom they WANT to use them and the materials keep them engaged in learning without even knowing it. Here are my favorite picks for the Easter season (all links are affiliates).

Bunny animal figures – Add these to your block area or sensory table and the children are sure to come up with amazing stories. They can explore habitats and create little worlds for their rabbits together.

Pompom Chicks – These will draw children’s attention just because they’re so cute. Use them like manipulatives or with Easter grass in the sensory tables.

Plastic Easter Baskets – These are perfect for storage in your centers, or as props for the dramatic play area.

Paper Easter Grass – In my opinion the paper Easter grass is far superior to the plastic. The colors are more vibrant, and it doesn’t static cling to everything! This is great for the sensory table and can make a really fun art supply too.

Mini Egg Vase Filler – These little foam eggs are an excellent size for little hands. They can be used like manipulatives, in your sensory table, or for art projects – just watch your students who like to puth things in their mouths because they do look a bit like candy.

Colored Egg Dye Containers – Egg dye cups are a fun way to store manipulatives or center materials. They can also be used for sorting activities.

Egg Dying Tongs – I love these as a fine motor tool! Children can use them to move plastic eggs from one bucket to another. They’re also fun for relay races.

White Plastic Eggs – I’m a huge fan of the white eggs. They look like actual eggs, and children can decorate them with permanent markers as an art activity. The great thing about a more realistic plastic egg is that it can be used year-round in any food-themed dramatic play space.
