Reflect, Refresh, Refocus

Sending kids back to school shakes up the routine and schedule for everyone in the family. So often, so much focus is placed on getting children back into a school schedule – but this can be an excellent opportunity to reflect on what we, as adults, want our days to look like too. There will always be certain pieces of our schedules that we don’t have control over – work being the big one. There are definitely other parts of the day that we can dictate, and possibly be a little more intentional with.

Here are some questions that you can ask yourself to start to identify area that might need a little more reflection and attention:

  • What parts of the day feel like they drain your energy?
  • Is there anything that seems to take longer than it should?
  • What would help you feel more calm? More efficient? More in control?
  • Is there anything that you’re currently doing that you don’t NEED to do?
  • What would you do with an extra half hour? How can you find that time for yourself?

If something isn’t working then you have the power to fix it! Reflecting on your daily schedule can be an excellent place to start making that change.
