Preschool Pumpkin Art

Is it really October if you don’t decorate a pumpkin? I have very specific rules about decorating pumpkins with young children – mainly NO PAINT and NO GLUE. I firmly believe that nothing that has to dry should ever be used on a pumpkin, because there is some kind of weird science that occurs and these things NEVER dry. When it comes to decorating pumpkins in the classroom – or really at any event with children – these are the supplies I turn to. All links are affiliates.
Pipe Cleaners – if you poke a hole in the pumpkin with a thumbtack or nail you can stick the pipe cleaner right in. Then shape it any way you want!
Glitter Foam Stickers – There’s something about foam stickers that children can’t resist. Let’s be honest, they’re fun and easy which is always something to take advantage of.
Pumpkin Face Stickers – The possibilities are endless with this wide variety of fun stickers, and they work on pumpkins of any size.
Colored Masking Tape – Get really creative with colored tape. Tear it, cut it, make stripes, mosaics, I can just imagine all of the fun ways that little ones would use this.
Glue Dots – This is my alternative to glue that has to dry. Glue dots are the perfect solution. You can use them with pompoms, glitter, paper, etc. They always stick and never drip.
Self Adhesive Google Eyes – Whether your pumpkin has one eye or 800, these are the perfect way to achieve the look.
