Host a Preschool Cookie Party
On the last day of school before winter break my school is hosting a holiday cookie party. I’m still in the planning stages, but I thought I’d share my ideas because there’s still time to put together your own party. Whether it’s for school or family and friends, it’s sure to be an event that the children won’t soon forget!
I used this clip art set from Erin Bradley Designs to put together super cute invitations.
My friend Jamie over at Play to Learn Preschool has an amazing Cookie Shop Dramatic Play Set that we’re going to use to set up an awesome pretend play area.
I found a gingerbread play dough recipe over at Housing a Forest that looks easy and amazing, I can’t wait to make it!
Dandee Designs has an easy tutorial for an apron made out of a dish towel (and don’t you know I have a couple of Christmas dish towels in my stash), so I want to make a couple of those (and who knows, after we use them for the cookie party they just might become cute gifts for little bakers that I know… I’m all about multi-tasking).
Every party needs a craft that serves as a keepsake, and look what I found on The Happier Homemaker! How cute (and easy) are these sprinkle ornaments!
And because it’s not a preschool party without some kind of fine motor exercise, check out this great idea from Cindy Kuiken – Gingerbread lacing, how smart is that?! I might do this with foam “cookies” for durability.
It looks like I have some prep work to do, I hope you’ll use some of these ideas for your own cookie party, and I’ll make sure to share photos from ours!
