What I’m Buying

There’s a great big sale going on over at Teachers Pay Teachers and I’ve got some shopping to do! Today I wanted to take a minute to share what I’ll be buying during the Back to School Sale.

1. Interchangeable Clipart from Molly Tillyer.  This is clipart, but I honestly think that it would make a great pre-k classroom center. The set includes a ton of different people (all skin tones) and then anything that you could possibly need to create thousand of different individuals – hair in different styles and colors, all kinds of facial expressions, and clothes and accessories like you wouldn’t believe.  I think that my students would have a great time making little people with this set, but we all know that I’d be playing with it too!.

2. Binder Covers from Jane Feener.  I am determined to get all of my materials organized, and these binder covers just might motivate me.  I would really like to put all of the activities I’ve collected over the years into their own organized binders – I don’t generally teach to themes, but there are certain points of the year that naturally lend themselves to different ideas, and I love to use these in my classroom, but at the moment all of the little cut out pieces for all of these different games and activities are falling out of my file folders and making one giant mess! I’m generally motivated by the opportunity to use cute new supplies, so hopefully these will get me started.

3. Classroom Decor from Mrs. Grauer. I have to be honest and say that I probably won’t buy these because they don’t really fit with my teaching methods BUT if I were in a typical elementary classroom (as opposed to my Reggio Preschool Room) I would be all over these! Not only are they cute, but she has seriously thought of every kind of label, card, decor, and sign that you could possibly need – it’s 98 pages! This set would save you so much time and effort, and your room would look cute and organized at the same time.

4. Reggio Inspired Calendar from Educating Abroad. I’ve admired this particular product for a while, and I think this is the perfect time to snatch it up.  It’s a reflection technique for children, the idea is that at the end of the day, the children draw a picture on the calendar page to represent something that they did that day.  It’s a great way of helping them express what was important to them that day, and it serves as a great keepsake at the end of the year!

5. Nature themed class decor set from Sunrise and Shine. Here’s another decor set – I love these, I would buy all of them, but this one actually works with my classroom because it showcases the natural materials that I like to include.  I also love that it is very modern and keeping with current trends, so it will make my classroom look up to date, but still homey.
