DIY Graduation Cap
It’s definitely time to start thinking about the end of the school year – how?! I know because this easy graduation cap template has already been super popular. I wanted to share this post from last year again, just in case you haven’t seen it yet.
This is always one of the most bittersweet milestones. It’s such an honor to send little ones onto preschool and celebrate all of the growth that has happened over the past year (and often longer if they’ve been in your program for a while), but saying goodbye can be hard! Graduation caps are such an iconic piece of this celebration, and you know I’m a huge fan of the DIY. I’ve perfected the technique and I’m loving the idea of personalizing these diy graduation caps so that families walk away with a beautiful keepsake.
Giving children the opportunity to make their cap their own is such a good way to truly include them in the graduation ceremony planning process. The idea of graduating can be a bit abstract for young children, and it can feel like they’re being put through the motions of something that they don’t fully understand. This gives them ownership and investment in the celebration.
The best part is that you can choose the mediums that fit your group – children can draw, paint, collage, or even add photos and stickers to their caps. The possibilities are endless, and they’ll love showing off the finished product!
