Books to give at the end of the school year

Our students become our little family every year, and I always love leaving them with a memento to remember the community that we created, and to let them know that I’m still in their corner and cheering them on. Books are a wonderful gift to send them off with at the end of the year. There are always the classics, but how many copies of Oh The Places You’ll Go does one child really need? Here are 6 fund new options if you’re looking for some inspiration (all are affiliate links).

    DIY Graduation Cap

It’s definitely time to start thinking about the end of the school year – how?! I know because this easy graduation cap template has already been super popular. I wanted to share this post from last year again, just in case you haven’t seen it yet. This is always one of the most bittersweet milestones. It’s such an honor to send little ones onto preschool and celebrate all of the growth that has happened over the past year (and often longer if they’ve been in your program for a while), but saying goodbye can be hard! Graduation caps are such an iconic piece of this celebration, and you know I’m…

End of the Year Preschool Resources

It’s the middle of April already – how?! In the preschool world, I know that means that it’s time to think about wrapping up the formal “school year.” That can look like a lot of different things, graduations, assessments, parties, finishing projects and investigations, and looking towards the following year. There are a few different resources that I have leaned on every single year at this time, so I thought they might make your life a little easier too. Here are my favorite materials for the end of the school year. I’ll have an in-depth look at my Kindergarten prep materials later this week, but this is my absolute favorite…

  • Graduation Gifts for Little Graduates

    Graduation Gifts for Little Graduates

There are so many incredible ideas out there when it comes to gifts for High School and College graduates – but what do you get for the little graduates in your lives? Preschool and Kindergarten graduates definitely don’t need money to furnish a dorm or apartment, they don’t need tech to support their next educational steps, or frames and photo albums to store all of their school memories. There are still meaningful graduation gifts that you can give these little ones to help them celebrate this major milestone! My favorite idea is a memory book that they can complete and keep with their preschool or kindergarten keepsakes. This is something…

  • End of the year traditions

Do you have any end of the year traditions? Other than preschool graduation, my favorite tradition is just to take it easy. I like to spend extra time focusing on my relationships with the children and enjoying our time together.  We always spend a lot of time outside, taking walks, blowing bubbles, drawing sidewalk chalk murals.  This unstructured time is some of my absolute favorite from the entire year.  My traditions aren’t all about doing nothing though, there is usually some work involved. I make every attempt to make it fun. We do a lot of cleaning, I pull out all of the puzzles and we make sure that all…

  • Friday Freebie – Graduation Song

Happy Friday! Can you believe we’re halfway through May?! This spring has flown by! Today’s freebie is perfect for those of you who are still planning your graduation ceremony. This adorable Graduation song from Miss Campos is sung to the tune of “Let It Go” (you know, from Frozen) so your children will have no problem getting into it.  It was written for Kindergarten graduation so you may have to make some minor changes to the lyrics, but it includes a power point with the words so the children can see them as you practice and sing along.  If you’ve already had your graduation ceremony this year.you’ll definitely want to…
