Classroom Party Themes for the Holidays
Party themes seem to follow trends, but sometimes I like to do something a little different than everyone else is doing. If this is true for you too, then here are some fun holiday party ideas for the classroom that are a bit different! Get creative with your Christmas party themes this year!
- Christmas light twinkle – do activities in the dark with Christmas lights, add a light-related craft, and string up some lights for ambiance.
- Pajama party – you can’t go wrong with this one!
- Natural Christmas celebration – use nature to decorate with and explore some natural crafts.
- Movie premier – dress things up with a fancy movie celebration. Set up a theater in the room and add some popcorn.
- Candy cane twist – taste test different kinds of candy canes and create something cute with the leftovers. Encourage everyone to wear red and white.
- Gingerbread house making competition – create gingerbread houses out of graham crackers and have family members vote for their favorites at pick up.
- Reindeer games – collect materials for a bunch of easy games and play the day away.
- Trim the tree – create ornaments and garlands, then use them to decorate a tree outside or in the classroom.
- Gift wrapping party – it’s your turn to be the elves! Wrap gifts for friends and family members while enjoying holiday snacks and songs.
- Cookie decorating party – create your own sugary masterpieces together.
- Caroling – Visit other classrooms or local businesses to sing holiday songs while wearing your holiday best.
- Snowman competition – work in groups to create a snowman (real, paper, or clay) and decorate it.
- Snowy day party – wear all white and enjoy activities like making snow ice cream and building sugar cube igloos.
- Ornament making party – set up stations so that children can make a few different ornaments to take home.
- Cookie swap – invite each family to bring in cookies that the children can taste test or bring home with them.
