4th of July Play Dough
On Friday I shared a free set of 4th of July Play Dough Mats, so today I wanted to make sure I gave you a play dough recipe to go with it. I am very picky about my homemade play dough, I don’t like it to be too oily or too salty, and I really don’t like it when it dries your hands out while you play with it. Halloween Play Dough Activities
Play Dough is one of those preschool supplies that some teachers love and other teachers hate. I can certainly see both perspectives, but I love it. I’m a huge fan of homemade play dough, for a couple of reasons; A batch of homemade play dough can be shared among more children than one container of store bought play dough. When you make your own play dough you can create any color that you want, so it can be used for endless themes and seasons. Autumn Play Dough Recipe (Version 2)
On Tuesday I shared my recipe for Apple Pie Play Dough. Today I’ve got one for Pumpkin Pie Play Dough – it’s very, very, very similar. This recipe is so easy, just mix the following ingredients in a large saucepan: 2 cups of flour 2 cups of water 1/2 cup of salt 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil 1 tablespoon cream of tarter 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice food coloring (I used Wilton gel food coloring in copper, but you can use red and yellow liquid food coloring too) stir over medium heat until the dough forms a uniform ball (it should look dry). Autumn Scented Play Dough (Version 1)
I love to make home-made play dough. I love the colors of store bought play dough, but 1 can just isn’t enough for the entire class, and it drives me nuts when the colors get mixed (I may be a bit OCD), my recipe makes a big batch, so everyone can use it at the same time.
