October themes for classrooms that don’t celebrate Halloween
I love holidays and celebrating them in the classroom, but there are many completely valid reasons for not incorporating these into your lesson plans. When it comes to Halloween there can be religious considerations, cultural implications, and economic concerns. Every school has it’s own policy, but if you don’t celebrate holidays in the classroom it can be a real challenge to look for new lesson plan ideas and only find the ubiquitous Halloween ideas. I have a list of 35 fall themes that can be a great starting point for your planning, but these few October themes fit closely enough to Halloween that you can use many of the Halloween…

Amazon Fall Fashion!
I’ve already shared cozy fall favorites, but I’ve been doing more shopping and couldn’t resist letting you in on the items I’ve added to my wardrobe over the last few weeks. Fall can be hard to dress for because our temperatures vary widely even throughout the same day. In the classroom this often means lots of layers! I also think that autumn has a very specific vibe and I’m all about dressing for that. Here are my pics for teacher fall outfits: (all links are affiliates) 90 Degree by Reflex faux leather leggings – These are my all-time favorite leggings. This brand is my go-to for all types of leggings,…

Halloween Clipart
Creating this clipart set really helped get me in the Halloween mood! The colors and images are exactly what’s in my brain when I think Halloween. Being able to represent that in a visual way is super exciting for me. I can’t get over the cauldrons, and I’m obsessed with the little apothecary jars. I can’t wait to see what you all create with these. You can find them in my TPT and Etsy shops. Here’s what is included in the bundle:

Halloween must-haves for teachers
My love of all holidays is no secret – truly one of my favorite things about teaching is the excuse to go all in when it comes to celebrations. Halloween is no exception! From my wardrobe to classroom supplies, I’ve been scoping out all of the Halloween fun. Here’s what is currently on my Amazon wish list (all links are affiliates). Ghost earrings – How cute are these?! I love that they dangle a little, but won’t be too heavy to wear all day. They’re pretty small, so they also won’t be too easy for little hands to grab. Polka Dot Tote – When it comes to celebrations at school…

Autumn Bucket List for the Classroom
Happy Friday! I have another freebie for you this week. I started creating seasonal bucket lists for my family when my daughter was very young. I was always looking for things that our family could enjoy and I would find myself saying “oh, we should have done that” after a seasonal opportunity passed. These bucket lists kept us busy and gave us plenty to look forward to. I realize that there are a ton of these available on pinterest, but it’s really hard to find options that work for the classroom. Most include a lot of outings, baking or cooking ideas, and movies. The one that I’ve put together is…

I have some great things in store!
I took a minute to re-introduce myself on Monday for those of you who might be new here (or just haven’t seen much about me yet!) and that got me thinking – I should share some of the things that I have planned for this year. I’ve been hard at work on my Monthly Preschool Sets for almost a year now. By the end of November I’ll have all 12 months available for you! I also hope to introduce two versions each of these for the months of October, November, and December. One version will feature holiday-themed activities (Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas), and the other set will have seasonally appropriate,…

Refresh and Renew
Whew! Last week was a whirlwind. My girl started school and all of our routines were flipped upside down. I finally had some time to myself, and that meant running every errand and tackling every project that I’d put off all summer. It was a lot to handle, so I took the week off to manage all of it. Now I’m back and fully ready to embrace the school year schedule. This felt like a perfect time to take a minute to introduce myself again. Hi! I’m Erin, and I’ve been sharing preschool tips and tricks – along with thoughts on teaching, parenting, crafts, and products for over 10 years…

Easy Alphabet Match Activity
I posted September’s Month of Preschool pack last week and wanted to share a sample activity with you! This has been one of my favorite easy activities for years because it is so low prep and can be used so many different ways. Print and laminate these and offer a variety of different letter manipulatives that children can match (alphabet pasta, cereal, pretzels, small letter magnets, erasers, or paper cut-outs). Laminated mats can also be written on with dry erase marker, or you can print one for each child that they can write on in pencil or marker. Go download your copy here, and make sure to check out the…
