Spring Flower Activities for Preschool

preschool flower activities

Spring has sprung, and what says spring better than flowers?! I do not have a green thumb, but that doesn’t stop me from leaning into all things floral to really freshen up the classroom. Here are some preschool flower activities that don’t require you to actually grow anything.

  • Smell different flowers
  • Dissect flowers
  • Observe flowers and draw technical drawings
  • Do crayon rubbings using different parts of flowers
  • Paint using dandelions as paintbrushes
  • Make bouquets
  • Create your own flowers using different art materials
  • Learn about the types of flowers that are native to your area
  • Ask a local gardener or landscaper to talk to your class
  • Visit a garden center
  • Set up gardening supplies in the dramatic play area
  • Look at different types of flower seeds
  • Learn names for different flowers

These posts from last year have some more awesome flower-themed activities!
