  • Freebie Friday – Martin Luther King Day

Happy Friday! This week seemed to last forever, it must be because I’ve been longing for this long weekend (I know, I know, we just got back from break, what can I say, I like to sleep in).   We are off on Monday for Martin Luther King Day, but I usually recognize the holiday in the classroom on Tuesday, we talk about why we didn’t have school, and it leads into our activities for the day.  On Wednesday I gave you some ideas for recognizing diverse characteristics, and this freebie fits perfectly with those activities.  This easy little MLK Activity is from Little Miss Kindergarten.  All you have to do…

  • Freebie Friday: Movement Charts

Happy Friday, we made it through the first week back to real life! The one thing that I love about January is that after having jam-packed weekend throughout November and December, my weekends finally feel like they belong to me again.  I am looking forward to getting a lot done around the house this weekend, because I’ll finally have the time. Earlier this week I gave you some ideas for indoor movement games, today’s freebie goes with this list perfectly! The free Movement Chart is from Chanda at Pink Oatmeal, the chart is meant to help you track your students’ movement activities, to make sure that they are participating in movement…

  • Friday Freebie – New Year’s Sequencing

Happy Friday! I hope that you had a great Christmas, but the fun isn’t over yet! It’s time to get ready for new year! It’s always really hard to find New Year’s activities that are truly appropriate for preschoolers.  They don’t really understand resolutions, nor do they completely get the concept of a year, or time for that matter. This product is completely appropriate, and works on building some really important skills.  This Size Sequencing Set for the new year is from Color Me Kinder and includes new year-themed pictures in a number of different sizes that children can practice putting in order according to size.  Each image comes in color…

  • Friday Freebie – Letters to Santa

Happy Friday! Are you lucky enough to be done with school today?! I have to work next Monday and Tuesday, so I’m still in school mode, but this weekend officially begins my holiday celebration; staff party tonight (yay for pizza with the girls, we do it low-key!), Christmas with my favorite aunt (who also happens to be the best gift-giver) Saturday, and Christmas with my in-laws Saturday and Sunday. With Christmas quickly approaching, there is still time for that last minute letter to Santa! Here is a great little freebie for helping your little ones write that letter. This Letter to Santa set is from Teacher Karma, go download it…

  • Friday Freebie – Black Friday DOUBLE Freebie!

Happy Black Friday! Thanksgiving is over and it is officially the Christmas season (in case you didn’t know!).  I’m putting up my Christmas decorations today so I thought I’d share two cute Christmas Countdown freebies with you – and no worries, one of them include a “Winter Countdown” if you want to (or need to) be politically correct. This Santa Countdown is awesome because it’s interactive.  Each day your students can glue a cotton ball to Santa’s beard until his beard is full and Christmas is here. What a super cute idea from Speech Sprouts! These Countdown Posters couldn’t be easier to use, there are four posters to chose from,…

  • Friday Freebie – Drawing a Wedding Cake

Happy Friday! Today’s freebie may seem a little random, until I tell you that my little sister is getting married tomorrow and everything happening today and tomorrow is part of that celebration – even my Friday Freebie! My students love to draw, a passion that I share with them, so they are constantly asking me how to draw something – they know that I won’t draw it for them.  This freebie is something that my students would love.  This cake drawing set is from Art with Ms Gram, and it is broken into easily understood steps that even young children could follow.  It is also a great way to introduce…

  • Freebie Friday – Community Helpers

Happy Friday! I don’t know about you, but this was a super long week, thank goodness the weekend is finally here! Today’s freebie is really cute, and a great way to add to your dramatic play centers, especially if you’re on a budget (aren’t we all!).  These free community helper hats are from Kari Bolt – I think I may be obsessed with her store now – I cannot believe the quality of these images. I would love to have enough community helper dramatic play gear for all of my students to be able to dress up together, but I just can afford to buy the really great sets, and…

  • Friday freebie – Glue Ghosts

Happy Friday! Today’s freebie comes with an activity, so first – here’s the freebie: This ghost clipart set is from Teaching in the Tongas, and they could be used for so many things; activities for your classroom, Halloween party invitations, or on classroom treat bags, just to give you a few ideas.  But the activity that I’m sharing today was one of my favorites when I was little, and my students absolutely love it too. Have you ever made glue ghosts? It is so simple! Print one of these cute ghosts and place it under a sheet of waxed paper, then children can squeeze white glue over the top of…

  • Friday Freebie – Halloween Safety Book

Happy Friday! I am so excited about today’s freebie that I want to shout it from the rooftops – I am going to personally share this activity book with every single student, teacher, and parent that I know because the information is important, and the delivery is oh so developmentally appropriate. Today’s freebie is a Halloween Safety booklet from Miss Kindergarten Love (LOVE HER!).  The booklet includes great reminders for students and parents, such as making sure to check candy before it gets eaten, use a flashlight or reflective tape so that you can be seen, think about using makeup instead of wearing a mask so that you are able…

  • Friday Freebie – Tech Ebook

It’s Friday! The freebie that I’m sharing with you today is one that I’m really excited about, mostly because I’ve put a ton of hours into it.  I created this Tech Resources E-book for my upcoming NAEYC Conference Presentation, and I want to share it with the entire world.  This book is full of clickable links and icons that will lead you to websites that I promise will make your job easier.  There are sites where you can create a class blog, share info and photos with families, and collaborate with other teachers. I’ve also included links to my favorite blogs, Pinterest boards, and websites for creating amazing displays and…
