Stock up for the end of the year!
There’s still time to take advantage of a great sale over at Teachers Pay Teachers! Yesterday I shared what’s on my wish list for this sale, today I wanted to share some of the items that I’ve created that have been really helpful in getting me through the end of the school year! My Graduation Bundle not only helps me prepare my kiddos for graduation, but it also includes many of the things that I use for the actual ceremony. Let me do a little of the work for you, so you can focus on the other details! The Get Ready for Kindergarten workbook is something that I send home with families. Between end…

Teacher Appreciation Sale
Teachers Pay Teachers is having their big Teacher Appreciation Sale, and I have a tradition for every sale – I like to share what is on my wish list, and some of my favorite products in my store. So here are the things that I will definitely be buying during the sale: My first ever TPT purchase was this Planner from The Modern Teacher. I love that it is editable, and that she includes so many different layouts and page options to choose from. I’ve used this one for years, and now it’s time for something new, so I’m trying to decide between this one and this one. I hate…

New Resources
I’ve been working on a ton of different projects lately, and while doing so have stumbled across some new resources – and rediscovered some old favorites. Here’s a few that I wanted to share with you: Early Learning Resources Ohio – This site is personalized for teachers and program administrators in Ohio, but there are similar sites for other states. I cannot say enough good things about the resources that are available to subscribers; templates, forms, policy samples, discounts, every time I log on I find something different and this would have saved me so much time when I was an administrator! Child Care Aware – this site has a…

Printables for St. Patrick’s Day
Can you believe that it’s the middle of March already?! I am completely fine with that, bring on spring! But this also means that St. Patrick’s day is right around the corner – Friday to be exact. St. Patrick’s day is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate in the classroom. This is partiall because it means that we’ve turned the corner and spring is almost here – I am all about celebrating everything turning green! I also love this holiday because it’s magical and whimsical and mischievous, and I fully believe that children need the opportunity to enjoy these special days while they are still little. If you haven’t…

Easy Resources
I’m always looking for an Early childhood resource on some topic or another – things to share with families, articles to help teachers that I know are dealing with tough stuff in the classroom, ideas for encouraging best practice, and strategies for managing behavior issues. The first place that I always turn is NAEYC. If you aren’t familiar with NAEYC then you must be living under a rock – I’m joking, but the National Association for the Education of Young Children is a source I trust completely, which is why I look there first. Here are some of my favorite publications from NAEYC: Position Statements: These documents help professionals understand…

Free Early Childhood Webinars
One of my favorite things about the field of Early Childhood Education is that things are always changing. This means that I am constantly learning something new about best practices, educational theories and techniques, and innovative strategies. I am a professional development nerd, I love trainings, seminars, and conferences, and I regularly sit through webinars solely because I find the subject matter fascinating. I wanted to share one of my favorite professional development resources with all of you and I’m hoping that you will enjoy it as much as I do. You’ve got to check out Early Childhood Investigations, the free webinars available on this site are written by experts…

Using your local Child Care Resource and Referral
I promised posts this week that will help you save money and find resources for your preschool and child care programs. In my opinion, there is no greater resource than your local Child Care Resource and Referral. According to Child Care Aware there are over 400 Child Care Resource and Referral offices across the US, and while they all offer slightly different services, many of their offerings are similar. For example, at my local Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) they help families locate child care programs that meet their needs, offer professional development trainings and technical assistance to child care providers, provide programming for parents and families, and run…

Free books for the classroom
I am so excited about the series of posts that I have planned for this week, they are all about ways to save money or find inexpensive resources for preschool and child care programs – who doesn’t love that! Let’s start with how you can get free books for your classroom – yup, free! Books are a necessity in any preschool room, a great way to share new information, encourage classroom communities, and instill a love of reading at a very early age. But books aren’t always the most durable items in a classroom. So whether you need some more to replace your favorite worn out copies, or you’re just…
