Valentine Preschool Classroom Materials

I just really freaking love Valentine’s Day! I don’t know if it’s the colors, or showing people how much we care about them, but it makes my soul smile – and right now, I’ll take all of that I can get. If you’re looking to infuse your preschool classroom environment with a little more Valentine spirit, here are my picks for fun, helpful materials. All links are affiliates.

Wooden heart shaped bowls – These are classic and fun at the same time. You can’t beat the wooden feel and organic lines, and they really are useful for storing and displaying all of those manipulatives.

3D Felt Hearts – Since this holiday does happen during one of the coldest months I’m always looking for ways to add a little warmth. Felted items add such a great texture, with that yarn feel that evokes exactly the warmth I’m looking for.

Heart Tweezer game – How cute is this?! It’s a super easy way to practice fine motor skills, and is sure to be the favorite item on your classroom shelves.

Heart Shaped Cookie cutters – These concentric cutters make it easy to create anything heart-shaped. From play dough to paint stamping, they’ll definitely come in handy.

Wooden Letter Beads – What a fun way to work on spelling and letter recognition! The wooden look is really elevated, and these would be excellent for family gifts.

Heart Shaped Serving Spoons – Using these serving utensils in the sensory bin is a no brainer. They could also be fun for balancing relays.

Heart Muffin Tin – One-to-one correspondence, matching, sorting, play dough, sensory, the possibilities with this cute muffin tin are endless.

Red and Pink Raffia Balls – I’m all about natural manipulatives, but the colors add a fun holiday element to these. Use them for counting, roll them down ramps and through tubes, add them to a sensory bin, or just scatter them for decoration.

Red Shredded Paper – Paper shreds are one of my favorite sensory bin fillers. They’re easy to clean up, can be stored in a ziploc bag and used over and over, and they come in so many different colors.
