Favorite Things – Preschool Teacher Edition
Every year I channel my inner Oprah to share my favorite things with you. My hope is that this list will help you shop for gifts that your favorite preschool teacher is sure to love, just like I do! All of the links below are Amazon affiliates, here’s the list for 2016: I love my Alex and Ani bracelets because they can be casual or dressy – which is perfect for a preschool teacher’s wardrobe. I also love that the price point makes them an ideal gift for any occasion. I always have a water bottle with me, and my current favorites are glass bottles with a screw-off lid. This…

November Challenge!
One of my favorite project topics for the month of November is community service. It’s the perfect time of year to help children understand empathy and encourage families to take part in the project too. So today I’m challenging you to work with your students to come up with a community service project that you can take on together. Do your students love animals? Think about collecting supplies for a local shelter. Do your students love to be outside? Work with families to clean up a local park. One year my class collected food for our local food pantry, and then we were able to take a field trip to…

Friday Freebie – Halloween Alphabet Game
Happy Friday! I know many of you are celebrating Halloween today or over the weekend, but for those of you who are waiting until Monday I have the perfect last minute game for you today. This Halloween Alphabet Game is from Christina Price, and it is adorable! Children draw cards with letters, and if they can name the letter correctly they get to keep the card, but if they pick up a Frankenstein card they have to put all of their cards back. Not only is it a fun way to practice the alphabet, it’s also a lesson in self-regulation! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and a…

Halloween Treat Bag Ideas
I try to be the teacher who is prepared for everything, and I’ve learned over the years that a holiday cannot come and go without children having a ton of stuff to take home with them – seriously, even if you don’t even have a party parents will still send treats. So whenever I plan for holidays I always include an easy container to take all the stuff home in. I’ve gathered some treat bag ideas for Halloween that the children can create themselves, and these won’t break the bank as far as supplies are concerned! Ghost bags from All Kids Network Full Moon Lunch Bags from Scrapbook Destination Duct…
