  • Preschool Activities for Autumn

From Sweet Green House The weather around here lately has been screaming AUTUMN and I am loving it! Fall is my favorite time of the year (we’ve had this discussion before – boots, sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, need I say more?!), and to celebrate, I wanted to share what’s in my Autumn activity bundle.  Be sure to read all of the way through, I added a blog exclusive freebie for you too! The Autumn Math and Literacy Activity Bundle includes the following activities (all are also available separately): My Autumn Vocabulary Cards and Spelling Practice set includes the words  acorn, apple, leaf, corn, leaves, pumpkin, tree, orchard, squirrel, and turkey. I…

  • Friday Freebie

Happy Friday! It’s even happier because it is a long weekend, thank goodness! I am excited to just ENJOY this weekend.  A Friday evening to myself (shopping anyone?!), getting away for an out of town wedding on Saturday, back home for one of my favorite local fairs on Sunday and beautifully nothing to do all day Monday.  I hope that your weekend is just as relaxing! I’ve spent a lot of time this week talking about dressing and behaving professionally.  I always feel more professional when I am able to be prepared and communicate clearly, so I wanted to share something that I made to help you do both.  This…

  • Friday Freebie

It’s Friday, which means it’s time for a freebie! This one is a great idea from Courtney Keimer. It’s a sensory alphabet book, each page has an upper and lowercase letter outline, along with a sensory material that begins with that particular letter.  Students use glue and the suggested material to fill in each letter outline.  I love this because it gives children a concrete example for each letter sound. Instead of drawing a picture, writing a word, or gluing in a magazine clipping, children actually get to handle the object that is associated with the letter sound, giving them a tangible example. I think that this is an awesome…

  • Freebie Friday

Happy Friday! That,s all I’ve got – Happy Friday, I am so glad that it’s here! Today’s freebie is something that I created that is basically the most useful convenient thing I’ve ever made (if I may say so myself).  Have you every seen any of the great ideas for projects using paint chips that are floating all over Pinterest? If not, then I’m sorry, but you must be living under a rock.  I love these cute craft, frugal ideas, but I have a couple of fundamental issues with the paint chip craze.  #1 I have a guilty conscious, I know those paint chips are free, but I cannot bring…

  • Friday Freebie

Happy Friday! I am so glad that this week is over, it was complete chaos.  While my weekend won’t exactly be relaxing, I am looking forward to celebrating a few milestones – My future SIL’s bachelorette party, and my nephew’s first birthday, not to mention my husband’s 27th birthday (which was technically last weekend, but has yet to be fully celebrated).  I may actually be looking forward to next week, when things will calm down and get back to normal! I am seriously excited about this week’s freebie.  I fully agree with the idea that the classroom environment plays a vital role in the learning process.  I also firmly believe…

  • Friday Freebie!

Happy happy happy Friday! This week seemed to drag on forever, maybe because it finally got really hot and I was desperately seeking time in the air conditioning! I made a cute little freebie for you today. This one is a blog exclusive, so send all of your friends here to get it. I’m gearing up for back to school, and this year I have a lot of students who will be new to my teaching philosophy.  I’m at a Reggio inspired school and I absolutely love all of the hands-on learning, exploration, and creativity that this philosophy promotes, but sometimes it can take a little getting used to for…

  • Friday Freebie!

Happy Friday! I’m going to enjoy my Friday because my weekend is jam-packed. It just may be the least relaxing weekend ever, but at least it’s the weekend right?! Our open house at school is next week, so I’m trying to get prepared.  I found this cute idea and knew I had to share – it’s from Courtney Howard.  She puts up this cute sign and surrounds it with die-cut hands that all have classroom supplies written on them. Parents can choose a hand and donate those items to the classroom.  I think it’s a great way to ask, and to send them home with a reminder (the paper hand)…

  • Friday Freebie!

Happy Friday! I worked my behind off this week so that I could spend my Friday afternoon getting crafty – make sure to watch my instagram feed for project photos, I haven’t quite decided what I want to work on yet, so it’ll be a surprise for you and me! Today’s freebie is Ready, Set, ME from A and M Productions.  This activity asks children to choose their favorite things (colors, pets, etc.) in order to create an all about me book that they can share with everyone.  This is a great activity for the beginning of the year, but it would also be wonderful for a self-concept and confidence building…

  • Freebie Friday!

Happy Friday! I hope that you have something fun planned for the weekend, I’m trying on bridesmaid dresses with my sister today and helping host a bridal shower for my soon to be sister-in-law tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to a wedding-festivity-filled weekend! For this week’s Friday freebie I found a super cute ice cream themed activity that would go perfectly with the ice cream activities I shared yesterday. My students would absolutely love “We Scream for Ice Cream… Rhymes” by Jennifer Drake.  Not only are her ice cream cones really cute, but I haven’t met a preschooler who didn’t like to rhyme, seriously, they will make up silly nonsense…

  • Friday freebie – Summer fun

Yay for Friday! Do I say that every week? I hope I change it up sometimes! I can’t exactly say why, but I feel like this is my first real summer weekend, maybe because it is the first weekend in June.  This week’s freebie goes along perfectly with the summer activity ideas that I posted Wednesday and Thursday, it’s like Brigid Ann was reading my mind! This Summer Fun Activity Calendar set comes with three calendars that are filled in with easy ideas for summer activities. Seriously. Every day has a super easy, very little prep, activity that your children can do.  It also includes a blank calendar so that…
