• Friday Freebie – Hanukkah Roll and Cover

Happy Friday! I’m looking forward to a weekend with no plans (other than tackling the last of my Christmas gifts)!  Ever since Thanksgiving, one of the best selling items in my Teachers Pay Teachers store has been my Hanukkah Vocabulary Cards, and when I searched for a Hanukkah freebie to share with you today, I figured out why; there just isn’t a lot out there for Hanukkah. I was able to find a really cute Hanukkah Roll and Cover from Posh Primary.  I love roll and covers because my students can play them together, which they love, while working on the ever important subitizing. This set also includes higher numbers, so…

  • Host a Preschool Cookie Party

On the last day of school before winter break my school is hosting a holiday cookie party.  I’m still in the planning stages, but I thought I’d share my ideas because there’s still time to put together your own party. Whether it’s for school or family and friends, it’s sure to be an event that the children won’t soon forget! I used this clip art set from Erin Bradley Designs to put together super cute invitations.  My friend Jamie over at Play to Learn Preschool has an amazing Cookie Shop Dramatic Play Set that we’re going to use to set up an awesome pretend play area.   I found a…

  • Easy Christmas Activities for Toddlers

I’m only at school part time, and since my schedule is a little flexible, that leaves me open to pick up subbing hours when other teachers are out.  Today I subbed in the infant toddler room.  Whenever I’m in someone else’s classroom I like to bring a few of my own activities – it’s like when you were a little kid and everyone else’s toys were so much more fun than your own! I grabbed three quick, easy activities to take with me, and they kept the little ones busy all day! When I say easy, I mean really really easy – read on to see! 1. Tweezers, Ice Cube…

  • Classroom Decorations for the Holidays

I love to decorate for the holidays, and this includes the classroom, but I definitely don’t have room in my budget to buy extra holiday decorations for the classroom.  Thank goodness for printables! The easiest way to add a little holiday pizzazz to the classroom, without braking the bank, is to print some great holiday quotes and pop them into cheap frames.  Not only is the a quick solution, but this artwork can be be changed seasonally, making the frames worth the investment. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite images from Pinterest to share with you! Click the links to go to the full size image that you can…

  • Gift ideas for your students

I love to give my students something for the holidays, but when you’re buying the same thing for 20+ children it can get a little pricey.  I’ve rounded up a few ideas for you, I haven’t decided which one I’m going to use yet! Personality trait name plates inside of ornament framesThis idea is a fun adaptation of a gift that Laura Schroyer made for her students. Laura used Wordle, I also like Tagxedo, both sites let you input the words that you want to use and create shapes out of the included words.  This is a great way to recognize what is special about each student in your class, and…

  • Easy Ornament Gifts

I am forever searching for gifts that my students can make for their parents that meet the following critera; they won’t cost me a fortune, and they can be completed in one sitting.  This year I came up with a cute idea that is not only quick and easy, but it might actually be something that families will keep for years to come. How cute is this Keepsake ornament?! And, of course, all of the pieces are printable, so I can share them with you! It’s a really simple idea, there are five questions typed onto strips. The questions are meant to capture what is important to each child at…

  • December Currently

Where did November go?! Seriously the month flew by, I can’t believe that it’s December already, but I’m certainly not complaining, here’s what I’m up to: Listening: I have been binge-watching The Good Wife, why did I not know about this show earlier?! It keeps me company when I’m working and I’ve been staying up late to sneak in episodes.  I think that I love it because Alicia’s life makes mine feel a lot less stressful! Loving: I put up my Christmas decorations on Black Friday, it’s my little tradition.  I have been loving sitting in the living room and just enjoying the decorations.  They are a great visual reminder…

  • Happy Cyber Monday

It’s become a tradition around here for me to share my TPT wishlist before each sale, today’s the big sale day so here’s what’s on my list.  After you’ve seen what I’m buying make sure to head on over to Teachers Pay Teachers and pick up some great stuff for your classroom (don’t forget to add code TPTCYBER) I love everything that Cherry Workshop creates, which makes it incredibly difficult to pick just one item from this store, so I didn’t.  My favorite winter/Christmas products from Cherry Workshop are;  Patterned Christmas Ornaments: These would be perfect for matching, classifying, patterning, and sorting activities. Christmas Borders and Frames: I can’t tell you…
